Case study
Convertible trench coat
A modular long coat with draped tailoring and laser-cut scotch embroidery that unlaces into a cropped jacket.

Concept
A convertible modular long coat crafted with draped tailoring and intricate laser-cut scotch embroidery.
Design
An eyelet-and-knot lacing system runs along the mid-waist seam. Unlacing and detaching the lower panel transforms the long coat into a standalone cropped jacket — two distinct styling options in one garment.
Tech pack
Construction detail sheets cover collar, gun flap, buckle, belt, open sleeve, sleeve belt, pocket, buttons, panels and every embroidery placement, front and back.
Development
The coat was draped and built in muslin on the form to study the shoulder construction, corset waist lacing, back-panel line art, skirt and pocket detail and collar.
Final result
A documented, convertible design from construction sketch to draped toile.
